Tennessee man run over by lawnmower after attacking son with chainsaw
Investigators say a Tennessee man is facing an attempted murder charge after he tried to attack his son with a chainsaw.
Douglas Ferguson, 76, was charged with attempted second degree murder following an incident that occurred on June 28 at a residence on Highway 421 in Bristol, the Sullivan County Sheriff's Office said.
Officials say Ferguson tried to attack his son with a chainsaw while his son was mowing the lawn.
The son ran over Ferguson with the lawnmower in an attempt to defend himself.
When deputies arrived on scene, they found Ferguson bleeding from his leg and head.
Ferguson was arrested on Tuesday and remains in jail on a $25,000 bond.
The sheriff's office said he was not arrested sooner due to his injuries.
