The Willis Clan father accused of raping female family member
The father of a country family-based band, The Willis Clan, was charged with rape of a child after being accused of raping an underage female family member.
Reports obtained by WTVF say the victim was removed by Willis from her bed and raped when she was between the ages of 9 and 12 while in Ashland City. The reports claim that unlawful penetration by Willis occurred when the female family member was older than 3 but younger than 13.
Officials told WTVF that Willis was advised that he was not allowed to be around his biological children or his wife.
Willis has been scheduled for a preliminary hearing and a bond hearing on Wednesday, Sept. 21.
Brenda Willis released the following statement to WTVF:
"I was shocked and devastated by the revelation of events leading to Toby Willis' arrest. As these are very trying times for the Willis family, I kindly ask all to respect our family's privacy. As a mother of twelve, my first priority remains with my children and helping them through this traumatic event.
We are cancelling all appearances for the foreseeable future to focus on the children and their wellbeing. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
We have, and will continue, to fully cooperate with law enforcement officials and ask that you direct all inquires regarding Toby Willis' case to the District Attorney's office who have our complete support."
