UT Cancer Center receives $70,000 donation for "Sock it out of the Park"

Administrators at the UT Cancer Center received a huge check Thursday.

Tailgating Against Cancer presented the check Thursday morning from its "Sock it out of the Park" event in April.

The check presented was for $70,000 in Dr. John L. Bell's office inside the cancer center.

Tailgating Against Cancer was established in 2011 by the friends and family of Stephen York Coleman, who died that year after a battle with brain cancer.

The mission of Tailgating Against Cancer to raise funds for the Cancer Institute and programs at the UT Graduate School of Medicine.
