KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- UT Police Department investigators on Wednesday arrested three UT students in connection with vandalism that burst sprinkler pipes in Clement Hall, causing the evacuation of the building and damages over the weekend.

UTPD reported water flowed early Sunday morning for approximately 20 minutes at a rate of approximately 100 gallons a minute, flooding the seventh floor of the dorm and floors below.

Upon initial investigation, officers found ceiling tiles punched out and a metal piece of the false ceiling that had stuck the piping and caused the water line burst.
