WATCH: Survivor winner Tina Wesson stops by Local 8 News
The thirty-sixth season of Survivor began on Wednesday, February 28, and East Tennessee, not for the first time, was represented on the show.
Ahead of the premiere, Survivor season two winner Tina Wesson of Knoxville stopped by Local 8 News to share how she will be watching the new series.
Wesson told Local 8 News anchor Kelsey Leyrer she still watches the show every year, and that she hasn't missed an episode. She said through all the seasons she's watched, she still has reasons to get excited about a new crop of talent.
"Well, one is that we have a fellow Knoxvillian! Michael Yerger," she said. "So it's interesting to see how he'll do on the show. I tend to think that Knoxvillians do really well, and we've had four now, so I'm excited to see how he does!
"It's always fun too, because people go in with this idea of what Survivor is like, and they always come out going, 'This is so much harder than I really realized that it was.' So I kind of like that moment, when they have that realization."For more information on this season's Knoxville-native contestant,
