WFXY radio tower knocked over in act of vandalism, police say
A Middlesboro, KY radio station was knocked off the air after their tower was torn down in an act of vandalism, police said. The tower now lays knocked over but officials said it caused no damage and no body was hurt.
WFXY said their AM and FM feeds are entirely off the air after the incident happened around 3:45 p.m. Sunday. It could take up to six months before they can replace the $100,000 tower to go back on the air.
Middlesboro Police are investigating and said they will review security footage in the area but so far have no suspects in custody.
