WWE presenting $100,000 to Knoxville Public Safety Foundation

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- World Wrestling Entertainment is making a $100,000 donation to the Knoxville Public Safety Foundation.

The donation is being made at the request of Knox County Mayor Glenn Jacobs for making a series of appearances for the WWE in fall 2018.

The foundation provides assistance and support to the City of Knoxville Fire Department, Knoxville Police Department, Knox County Sheriff’s Office and the University of Tennessee’s Police Department employees and their immediate families who’ve suffered a catastrophic injury, illness, death or other significant life-altering event.

The check will be presented Friday evening at 7 p.m. at the Knoxville Civic Coliseum ahead of the WWE event Saturday night.
