(CBS/WVLT) -- A new report says teens spend, on average, $2,600 per year, but on what?
Investment bank and asset management firm Piper Jaffray's report on teenage spending says they spend it on things like food, clothing and video games.
Piper Jaffray's surveyed 8,000 teens, with an average age of 16. According to the data, girls tend to spend the most on clothes., while boys tend to spend the most on food.
The top restaurants for teens are Chick-fil-A, Starbucks and Chipotle, while they like shopping at Amazon, Nike and Urban Outfitters.
