A Knox County woman who was convicted in the death of one of her two deceased husbands has been released from custody.

Raynella Dossett Leath's attorney, Joshua Hedrick, tells local media his client left jail Wednesday after a judge approved a recommendation to lower her bond to $50,000.

Leath has been accused of killing former Knox County District Attorney General Ed Dossett, who died in 1992, and David Leath, who died in 2003.

She was tried twice in David Leath's shooting death. After the first trial resulted in a deadlocked jury, she was convicted in the second. Prosecutors dropped similar charges in Dossett's death.

In April, Judge Paul Summers tossed the first-degree murder conviction in Leath's second husband's death and awarded her a new trial because of the drug use of the Knox County judge that presided over the trial.

Leath is expected to be in court on January 12, 2017.
