KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- According to court documents, Knoxville police responded to the scene of a stabbing at 1171 Armstrong Ave. Thursday night.
Police said the victim was stabbed with an "unknown sharp object" then transported to University of Tennessee medical center with a serious cut to her calf.
According to records, Mary Elizabeth Gray was taken into custody in relation to the incident after police found her to be in possession of bloody clothes.
Gray was charged with aggravated assault and booked into the Knox County Detention Facility.
Police said an investigation remains ongoing.
