A Christmas burglary ended in an arrest a few hours later after police found a box truck halfway through a wall.

Tuesday around 12:30 p.m., Laurel County 911 got a call about an alarm going off at Fitzpatrick's Furniture Store on US 25 in Corbin.

A Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Officer was at his nearby home when he heard the alarm and went to check it out. He found a box truck that had been driven into the store.

Investigators learned the box truck, which belonged to the furniture store, was used to commit a burglary. Video surveillance revealed the suspect to be Penny J. Barnes, 44, of Corbin, police said.

A few hours later, a London Police Officer found Barnes and arrested her on an unrelated complaint.

Barned was taken to the Laurel County Detention Center and charged with third-degree burglary and theft by unlawful taking, $10,000 or more.
