Your Weekend: A Tale of Two Forecasts

KNOXVILLE, Ten. (WVLT) - Put the hammock away and get your hat and gloves back out. Record highs are in hiding and more rain is on the way

After a huge Vols win and plentiful fun in the sun Saturday, Sunday will be mostly cloudy with afternoon showers, a 40% chance, with a high in the mid-to-upper 40s. The latest trends keep many of our southern counties dry all day, while rain is most likely from Anderson County northwards.

On Sunday, the East Tennessee Chinese New Year Festival will be held at U.T. from 3:30 PM to 5:30 PM at the Alumni Memorial Building. The event is inside but it wouldn't hurt to bring your umbrella for the walk to and from the car.

Already planning your outfit next week? You will need the umbrella Monday morning.

However, on Tuesday, do not pack the umbrella! It will blow away in strong winds. Order up the rain jacket instead, because heavy showers are rolling in throughout the day.
