1 lb mushrooms (any variety), chopped fine
2 cloves garlic, peeled and minced very fine
2 TBSP olive oil or butter
1 8 oz pkg cream cheese, softened
½ tsp salt
1 tsp pepper


Heat the olive oil (or butter) in a heavy skillet. Add the mushroom and garlic and cook at medium high heat for about 5 minutes until the mushrooms are cooked and the liquid has cooked out. Allow to cool. Cream the cream cheese with the salt and pepper until it is soft. Blend in the mushrooms. Turn into a greased 1 quart mold or into an attractive serving dish. Chill several hours. Unmold and serve with crackers.
