A stunning comeback for HVA and a rivalry win in Anderson County lead Week 9

Week 9 in high school football was loaded with action and we've got the biggest games right here!

Hardin Valley 35 Dobyns Bennett 17

Just when the Indians thought they were pulling away with a 17-0 lead, the Hawks came roaring back.

Hardin Valley rattled off 35 unanswered points for a huge win to stay alive for the region title.

Oak Ridge 54 Clinton 28

Oak Ridge came into this cross county rivalry game as one of the hottest teams in East Tennessee, losing just one game to previously undefeated Farragut.

The Dragons, conversely, had just two wins coming into Friday night, but held tough with Wildcats. Clinton went into halftime trailing just 24-21.

Oak Ridge, however, pulled away in the second half to improve to 7-1 on the season before a challenging end to the season against Powell and Fulton.

Fulton 56 Campbell County 0

This game garnered some this week after Campbell County running back Drew Jordan rushed for 325 yards against Karns.

No such luck against the Falcons. Coach Rob Black's team rolled Cougars to a 41-0 lead at halftime.

Gibbs 24 Halls 17

Halls disappointing season continued Friday losing to regional and North Knoxville rival Gibbs at home, 24-17.

The Eagles, on the other hand, have won five straight after losing their first three games of the season.
