KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT)-- It was the young ladies last week, today begins State tournament play for our area boys high school basketball teams.
That includes Jeremy Parrots Bearden Bulldogs who've had a fantastic season despite fighting through injuries of key players and a very demanding schedule.
Despite all that, the Bulldogs haven't lost a game since early January! Now they're in Murfreesboro for the third straight year hoping to land the programs first ever state title. Head coach Jeremy Parrott says, "seeking the first state title for Bearden in basketball, it just means everything, they've worked hard for this over three years and have put themselves in a good position and we're ready to go."
Center Kordell Kah adds, "our motto is humble and hungry so we've always worked hard to stay humble and won't let a team upset
us when they shouldn't have."
Bearden will face Franklin tonight at MTSU with a 7pm Eastern tip-off.
