Knoxville, Tenn. (WVLT)-- A terrific run during this 2018 season will continue for head coach Bryson Rosser and his Central High Bobcats who defeat defending Class-5A champion Catholic 24-19 in the State Semifinals.

The Bobcats came out clawing building a 17-7 halftime lead and increased that lead to 24-7. However, the Irish rallied late and would pull to within 24-19, but that's as close as they got as Central returns to Cookeville for the first time since 2016 when they lost the Class-4A championship game to Memphis east.

Central's Demetrian Johnson, had five catches for over 100 yards in the win which is the 12th straight for the Bobcats after starting the season 0-2. Congratulations and best of luck at state to the Central High Bobcats!
