KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT)-- Jeremy Pruitt and his coaching staff at Tennessee are closing out their
final shopping weekend before National Signing Day on Wednesday.

Among the official visitors on the UT Campus, 4-Star offensive tackle Mitchell Mayes out of Raleigh, NC. He's a top prospect for Tennessee's 2020 signing class. Saturday marked the 4th trip Mayes has made to Knoxville since Coach Pruitt and his staff were hired. The young man spoke with our media partners at Volquest.com and told them, “It was just hanging out. We ate first and just hung out with the coaches. I spent time with coach (Will) Friend and coach (Brian) Neidermeyer and I finished up the trip visiting with Coach Pruitt. I wasn’t really looking for much. I was just working on growing my relationships with the coaches."

The Vols signed 14 players for the 2019 class during the early signing period in December. 11 of those 14 are considered 4-Star players by Rivals. Included among that group is three-time State Mr. Football in Tennessee, Eric Gray. Linebacker Quavaris Crouch out of Charlotte North Carolina and big offensive tackle Wanya Morris out of Loganville, Georgia.

Tennessee hopes to sign two or three more players on February 6th. Be sure to join us this Wednesday as WVLT Sports and Volquest.com team up to wrap-up this 2019 signing class for the Vols. We'll have a report during WVLT News at 6 p.m. on Wednesday and continue that report on WVLT Facebook Live.
