Knoxville-native Thomas Harper finished out his first spring practice at Oklahoma State by turning some heads.
The former Karns high school All-State standout enrolled this past January. A receiver at Karns, The Cowboys are switching him over to the other side of the ball as a defensive back.
"He's been pretty competitive for a young kid" Head Coach Mike Gundy said. "I don't see him being scared of anyone out here and his physical ability seems like he has a chance to maybe compete earlier than other people"
Harper, a 2-star athlete according to Rivals, held offers from
Austin Peay, Eastern Kentucky, Navy, Tennessee-Chattanooga, and Tennessee-Martin before pledging his commitment to the Cowboys in early June
He joins his brother, Devin Harper, at Oklahoma state playing alongside on the defensive front.
"He's a very motivated, self motivated young man. He knew what he wanted" Karns head coach Brad Taylor explained. “Also having an older brother at Oklahoma State right now, he’s seen what it takes from him”
Oklahoma State begins their season August 30th against Oregon State in Corvallis, Oregon.
