Former Vol Johnson cut by Broncos

A former Vol is now looking for a new team in the NFL.

Alexander "A.J." Johnson was waived by the Denver Broncos on Thursday, per local media reports.

The Broncos signed Johnson to a three-year deal in August.

Johnson and former Tennessee teammate Michael Williams were found not guilty in a rape trial in late July.

A four-star linebacker prospect out of Gainesville, Ga., Johnson started all four years at Tennessee. He went on to earn all-SEC honors in 2013.

Johnson missed the final two games his senior season in 2014 due to the allegations of rape raised against him by a woman.
