Fulton is the region 3-5A champion after beating Oak Ridge, 21-13 Thursday.

The visiting Falcons (9-1) gained momentum early at Blankenship Field, including a clutch touchdown pass on fourth down from Xavier Malone to Jashuan Fenderson. Fulton carried a 21-7 lead into halftime. DeShawn Page also scored two rushing touchdowns.

Oak Ridge (8-2) lost its quarterback, Herbert Booker, to injury in the second half after he appeared to take a helmet to the knee.

Sophomore Mitchell Gibbons filled in admirably, throwing a touchdown pass to senior Kai'Reese Pendergrass to cut the deficit to 21-13.

With less than a minute left in the game, Gibbons took a shot at the end zone to potentially tie the game; Fulton's Shamond Morelan picked off the pass to end the Wildcats' chances.

Fulton will have home field advantage throughout the playoffs.
