Game Day Guide: Vols vs. Alabama

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- Fans and players alike are ready and raring to go as the Vols head into the weekend, fresh off their victory over Auburn, to play against Alabama.

Right now, Alabama is the no. 1 team in the country, and Tennessee is just beginning to build itself up after controversy and loss have plagued the team for years.

However, many fans saw hope after the Vols' decisive 30-24 win against the Tigers last Saturday.

The Vols will take that hope into Neyland as they face off against Alabama this Saturday.

According to the AP, Alabama quarterback Tua Tagovailoa's health has been a topic of interest recently. The Heisman Trophy front-runner aggravated a sprained right knee in a 39-10 victory over Missouri. Alabama coach Nick Saban downplayed the situation Monday by saying that Tagovailoa actually is feeling “probably better this week than he was last week.”

Tennessee quarterback Jarrett Guarantano is coming off the best game of his career and will get a chance this week to show how far he's come in the last year. Last season, he was 9 of 16 for just 44 yards in a 45-7 loss to Alabama.
