Knoxville, Tenn. (WVLT)-- After a week off the ice bears hit the road for a showdown in Pensacola Friday night, but before they boarded the buses they got in a quick practice here in Knoxville.
Now Thursday's practice was on the slick stuff, but Wednesday the Ice Bears were at Bullman's kick boxing and fitness here in Knoxville for a non-traditional practice full of endurance training and martial arts. Head coach Jeff Carr says the team benefits from this form of cross-training,"
it was a team building number one but number two its a mindset a mind frame it's a long season we don't want to take off the gas pedal at all no matter if it's a three in three or a week off, so we did that it was pretty rigorous pretty intense but we got a lot out of it."
The ice bears return home a week from Friday. Make plans for the always popular Wiener dog races coming up next weekend to the Knoxville Civic Coliseum.
