KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT)-- Following a 3-2 outing at ESPN's St. Pete/Clearwater Elite Invitational, the No. 7/8 Tennessee softball team hosts four teams in the Tennessee Classic over the course of four days due to expected inclement weather this weekend.
The Orange and White kick off the tournament on Friday, Feb. 22, going against Kansas at 3 p.m. ET in the lone game of the day. Admission is FREE and all tickets previously purchased for Friday can be used for Monday's slate of games. UT will also play one game on Saturday, Feb. 23, at 12 p.m. ET against Virginia. On Sunday, Tennessee will play a doubleheader. The Lady Vols will first face Bradley at 12 p.m. ET and then Virginia again at 2:30 p.m. ET. In the final game of the tournament on Monday, Feb. 25, UT will play at 2:30 p.m. ET against Louisville.
In Week 2 of the regular season, the Lady Vols were led by dominant performances from Chelsea Seggern, Amanda Ayala and Aubrey Leach at the plate as the starters batted over .400. In the circle, all three of UT's pitchers collected wins and threw at least 10 strikeouts while facing opponents who were ranked or received votes in Week 1 polls.
