Lady Vols suffer 4th straight loss for the first time since 1970

Knoxville, Tenn. (WVLT)-- Well the concern continues to mount for Lady Vol Nation. Holly Warlick and her 20th ranked Lady Vols come up shot again, this time losing to a (9-8) Alabama team in Tuscaloosa, 86-65.

This young Lady Vols squad continues to struggle at both ends of the floor.
Tennessee scores just 10 points in the final quarter and shoots just 33 percent from the floor on the night. The Lady Vols were even worse from beyond the arc connecting on just 4 of 23 three point shots.

Things weren't much better defensively for this Tennessee program which has now lost four straight for the first time since 1970. It is also the 5th straight loss to Alabama, something which seemed impossible at one time. Bama's 21 point win is thir largest ever over the Lady Vols.

The longest streak of consecutive wins over Tennessee belongs to Notre Dame, which won six straight over UT from 2011-2016. Those same Irish will visit Knoxville next Thursday night.

Now 12-5 overall and 1-4 in league play, the Ladies are certainly hoping the friendly confines of Thompson-Boling Arena will do them good when they host Arkansas next Monday night at 7pm. That game will tip-off We Back Pat Week for Tennessee.
