Local football players sign to play in college

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- Several notable players from the Knoxville area signed scholarships to play football at division one schools on Wednesday, the first day of this year's early signing period.

Karns DB/WR Thomas Harper signed to play at Oklahoma State, where he will join his older brother, Devin (currently a linebacker at OSU).

"We're close. We talk everyday. I've spent a few weekends there already. So i just know already that it's going to be great," said Harper.

Fulton LB/RB DeShawn Page signed with Marshall.

"I just like the campus and everything about it," said Page.

His roommate will be his high school teammate J'Coryan Anderson, who also signed with Marshall on Wednesday.

"I chose Marshall because it was a special place and I love the atmosphere and coaches. That really set the tone," said Anderson.

South Doyle DB/WR Ton'Quez Ball signed with Tulane on Wednesday.

Ball said, "I'm very happy. It's exciting. I've been waiting on this all my life."
