Local middle school 'flies' with Vols

ANDERSON COUNTY, Tenn. (WVLT) -- The Vols take on Purdue on Thursday night for a chance to get into the Elite 8.

The game is set to tip off at 7:29 p.m. on TBS, and fans around Tennessee are celebrating the Vols' impressive season. Their record, 31-5, includes a school record 19-game winning streak and ties the most victories in a single season in program history.

This year, the Vols began what may become a new tradition-- one fly, we all fly. One player dunks and the team jumps and lands with him. The video is slowed down and posted to social media.

The ritual has grown in popularity and has been performed by many Tennessee teams and even the Miami Heat.

It has also been performed by some would-be Vols at local schools, like at Grand Oaks Elementary.

Jessica Saunders Conatser shared video of some Grand Oaks kids doing the 'one fly, we all fly,' while dressed to the orange in their Tennessee gear.
