Local prospects taken in MLB Draft

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT)-- A handful of local baseball prospects were selected on day-3 of the 2019 MLB Draft.

Alex Haynes of Central high school and Walters State fame was picked
by the Colorado Rockies in the 15th round,

Patrick Raby who played his high school baseball at Farragut and college ball at Vanderbilt was selected in the 17th round by the Cincinnati Reds, which also happens to be home to former Vol great Nick Senzel.

We had another Farragut player selected, in the 31st round by the Miami Marlins, although it's more likely that Parker Noland will attend Vanderbilt university come next season. Noland has already signed with the Commodores.

Also taken in the 25th round by the Pittsburgh Pirates was Carson-Newman catcher Ethan Goforth. The Senior was the 754th overall pick in this years draft.
