Local youth baseball camp started as a school project

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- Christian Cate thought about coaching a team for his senior capstone project at the Christian Academy of Knoxville.

Instead, he wanted to try to do something bigger.

Cate decided to put on a baseball camp for kids in the area, but also incorporate faith.

"That's the hope for all the projects, that they have a lasting impact. I think even a word can impact someone," said Susan Stanford, a teacher at CAK, also the capstone advisor.

The camp is now in its second year.
