Longtime Bearden coach and teacher set to retire

He's coached baseball, taught in the classroom and now even keeps Bulldog fans up to date on Bearden athletics via social media.

Jack Tate reflects on forty five years at Bearden high school

Jack Tate has literally done it all at Bearden and after over forty years of service is set to retire this week.

Tate's Tweets and Facebook posts keep the Bearden fanbase informed and it's a role he enjoys, "It keeps them informed because sometimes you can’t get that in the newspaper. If you put it on Twitter or Instagram or things like that, it makes people feel like they’re more a part of it. And I really enjoy it. Plus, it gives other schools their due as well." Tate said.

Tate isn't completely cutting the chord coming back next Fall to teach a couple early morning classes at a place that’s meant so much to him for the past 45 years.
