"No Ceilings" as Vols leave for Chapel Hill

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT)-- The baseball Vols are in Chapel Hill tonight in advance of this weekends NCAA regional at the University of North Carolina. The Vols are making their first NCAA tournament appearance since 2005.

The team left campus around 11 am Wednesday, but before they packed up and headed out we got a chance to visit with head coach Tony Vitello and closer Redmond Walsh. The Alcoa product was sporting a new T-shirt that he and his teammates were just prior to leaving campus. It reads no ceilings and that says it all says Walsh, :" It really does it's kind of what we've had planned all season we have no limitations here, I know a lot of people doubted us but we knew how good we were going to be this year and how talented we were so it kind of just represents how we are this season."

As for this weekend's action beginning with friday night's opener against liberty coach Vitello added, "We have our own brand and we want those teams to know what our brand is by the end of the weekend. liberty we've played them before we've seen them they've see us they are very well coached. their coach is an incredibly hard worker and that's reflected on the field and we are gonna get their best arm and their best punch and i think are guys have learned their lesson and we're gonna get a hay maker off as well."

The Vols face off against Liberty Friday night at 7pm at UNV. Your WVLT Sports team will begin coverage from North Carolina on Thursday.
