Oak Ridge to retire Higgins jersey

Knoxville, Tenn. (WVLT The Oak Ridge Wildcats football program will retire the jersey of former standout and national champion receiver, Tee Higgins.

Head coach Joe Gaddis confirmed for WVLT Sports that Tee's #5 jersey will be retired during a ceremony at the school gym during next Friday night's boys basketball game against Campbell County.

Higgins played an instrumental role during Clemson march to a perfect season and even caught a touchdown pass in his teams national title win over Alabama.

It's quite the honor, Higgins' jersey will be the third ever retired by the school.Jackie Pope had his retired in 1958 and Shawn Summers back in 1991.

Again the Ceremony will take place on February 1st at half-time of the Campbell Co. game at the Oak Ridge gym.
