Pruitt looks to close out 2019 signing period

The second signing day for the class of 2019 begins Wednesday as Jeremy Pruitt and his staff look to close out an already impressive recruiting class.

The Vols, currently ranked #15 according to Rivals, enjoyed an impressive early signing period in December, signing 21 recruits including high valued prospects like linebacker Quavaris Crouch, In-state running back Eric Gray, and securing transfer Aubrey Solomon from Michigan.

According to Volquest’s Austin Price, The Vols could potentially sign up to five prospects tomorrow.

The Vols fully expect offensive tackle Darnell Wright to sign his talents away to Knoxville, marking the first 5-star prospect in the Jeremy Pruitt era.

Wright, a consensus 5-star from Huntington, West Virginia, is the highest-rated uncommitted prospect in the Rivals250, holding offers from Alabama, Ohio State, Clemson, Oklahoma, and Tennessee.

The 6’6 300 lb. offensive tackle will make a great welcoming gift to new offensive coordinator Jim Chaney, as the Vols ranked last in rushing in the SEC this past season.

Notable other recruits potentially signing tomorrow are Wide Receiver George Pickens, Outside Linebacker Henry To’oto’o, and Cornerback Kenney Solomon.
