KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT)-- During my time in Knoxville, I've seen six head coaches lead his Tennessee Football team into Neyland Stadium for an Orange and White Game. The 2nd for Jeremy Pruitt marked my 32nd here on Rocky Top.
One constant has been the fans and the energy that is exuded from them regardless of the situation surrounding the team. Also, abounding are the memories which return to mind like the beauty of the Dogwoods return to East Tennessee each spring.
Among those memories, thoughts of my early days in East Tennessee TV when I encountered Stan Cotton, my Sports Director at the old WTVK when I first arrived to town. Stan, who is now the play-by -play voice for the Wake Forest Demon Deacons, was the recipient of the Lindsey Nelson Award. Lindsey was a Pro's-Pro and Stan without question fits that mold!
Another memory was spending a few seconds with Tee Martin as I did several times during that magical 1998 season. It's great to have that special VFL back in Big Orange Country. Speaking of special VFL's, another quarterback, Josh Dobbs was back on Campus for the game sharing his time graciously with the fans. What a terrific ambassador for the program and the University. Here's to making many more memories in the months and years to come!
