State Semifinals underway across Tennessee

Knoxville, Tenn. (WVLT)-- The drive to Cookeville and the annual Blue Cross Bowl continues tonight with the High School Football State Semifinals.

East Tennessee is represented in five of the state's six classifications.

Lets start in 6A, Maryville has been to the semifinals 19 consecutive years. they're going to be short handed, that guy is not going to be with them. Tee Hodge the running back suffered a leg injury last week Farragut. they'll have to face Oakland without Hodge. The winner of that goes on play Thursday night in the 6a championship game against the winner of Whitehaven and Ravenwood.

in 5A the game that you will see on MyVLT onFCA Friday Playoffs Central is Catholic. The bobcats are hot winning 11 in a row but catholic is the defending 5A state champion.

in 3a its like de ja vu, Alcoa the 3 time defending state champion will travel to Upperman where they are hugely favored. in 1a another state champion hits the road greenback travels Whitwell. Whitwell knocked off South-Pittman. the Cherokees a little short handed. to make it back to Cookeville.
