KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- Admiral Schofield was seen as the emotional leader for Tennessee throughout the last few seasons. Now, he’s headed to the nation's capital after being drafted 42nd overall (2nd round) in the NBA Draft.
He was technically drafted by the Philadelphia 76ers, but the Sixers previously traded that pick to the Washington Wizards.
Schofield dropped 16.5 points/game as a senior in the 2018-19 season; a season regarded as one of the best in program history.
Schofield, a 6’7” small forward has been tagged as a player who can play all over the floor, and worked hard to develop his outside shot later in his college career.
Schofield is the second Vol drafted.
Grant Williams was taken by the Celtics with the 22nd overall pick.
