LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WVLT) - Thousands of fans are expected in Louisville for the Sweet Sixteen games at the KFC Yum! Center.
Inside the arena, which is expected to fill 21,000 seats Thursday night, there are restaurants, bars and guest lounges. General Manager Eric Granger explained that this is the first time the NCAA has allowed the arena to sell beer and wine during a game.
The arena is also home to University of Louisville memorabilia, including trophies and a hall of fame recognizing student-athletes and coaches throughout history.
It's not just known for sports, the KFC Yum! Center has a rich history in music, and has brought in acts such as Metallica, Kiss, The Eagles, Lady Gaga and more.
Across from the arena, there is a popular bar. It's called Troll Pub. They are planning a big block party for all fans starting at 2 p.m. Operating Partner Ben Barker said the party will continue until it dies down. It is open to the public and family friendly.
He made sure to note that Tennessee fans are encouraged to join.
