(WVLT) -- "We told our players, 'we've got 24 hours to celebrate and enjoy it, and then it's time to move on to Alabama," Coach Jeremy Pruitt said in a press conference on Monday following Saturday's win against Auburn.
The a href="https://www.wvlt.tv/content/sports/GAMEDAY-Tennessee-at-21-Auburn-497421571.html">Vols beat Auburn 30-24 and snapped an 11-game SEC losing streak in the process.
Despite the win, this week kicks off under intense scrutiny as it will be Pruitt's first game against his old team, Alabama.
During a press conference at UT, Pruitt said, "This game means a whole lot, to a whole lot of people. It's a very important game."
He told listeners that it's up to the Vols to make it a competition again. "We got to do our part to create this rivalry again. It's not been much of a rivalry the last few years."
Pruitt said Alabama has a "complete team" and have been able to do what they want defensively.
The Vols are set to play Alabama this Saturday at Neyland.
If you can't make it to the stadium, you can watch the game on WVLT along with the Big Orange Tailgate which begins at 1:30 p.m., followed by the WVLT pregame show.
