Knoxville, Tenn. (WVLT)— The 10th-ranked UT Soccer team is making its NCAA Quarterfinal debut Friday afternoon, playing top-ranked and No. 1 overall seed Stanford. Kickoff in Pali Alto is 5 p.m. ET at the Laird Q. Cagan Stadium with a spot in the NCAA Division I Women's College Cup on the line.

Tennessee (16-2-3) has advanced to the NCAA Quarterfinals for the first time in program history, collecting three-straight wins at home over Louisville (2-1), Arizona (3-2) and Texas A&M (3-0). Senior forward Danielle Marcano paces the Volunteer attack with four goals in the tournament, while Bunny Shaw and Salera Jordan have each tacked on a pair of scores for UT.
This is just the fourth all-time between Tennessee and Stanford, as the Cardinal holds a 2-1-0 edge in the series. In the last meeting between the programs, the Lady Vols edged the Cardinal 1-0 in 2006 at the Stanford Nike Invitational.
The winner of Friday's game will advance to next week's Women's College Cup or Final-4 at the WakeMed Soccer Park in Cary, N.C. The national semifinals are scheduled for Friday, Nov. 30, followed by the final on Sunday, Dec. 2.
