Let's Get Rowdy: UT soccer primed for NCAA Tournament

By  |

Playoff soccer strikes Knoxville this Friday.

The No. 10 Tennessee Lady Vols (13-2-3, 7-2-1 SEC) will host Louisville (12-6) in the first round of the NCAA Tournament. Action kicks off at 5 p.m. at Regal Soccer Stadium.

This is the first time UT has ever been a no. 2 seed in the tournament, and their highest seeding since they were no. 4 in 2011.

The Lady Vols are on track for the highest single-season winning percentage in program history, and have had all the hysterics and dramatic wins to back it up; for example, an overtime win over LSU, scoring four goals in six minutes against a top-5 Texas A&M team, and more.

"That's talent and toughness and resiliency and 'stick-to-it-iveness'," coach Brian Pensky said. "I'm hoping that carries us throughout this postseason."

If you go to the game, you can get free tickets to the Tennessee men's basketball game against Louisiana, which tips off at 7 p.m. It's a two-for-one. Do it.
