Vols jump to No. 3 in AP top 25

After the Vols' huge win over No. 1 ranked Gonzaga, the Associated Press poll jumped Tennessee to into the top 5 in nation.

The Vols are now ranked No. 3 heading into a in-state match up with rival Memphis.

Tennessee won a thriller in Phoenix over the Bulldogs 76-73, with Admiral Schofield leading the way with 30 points and six rebounds.

The Vols are now only behind top ranked Kansas, who Tennessee pushed to overtime in its only loss of the season, and the Duke Blue Devils.

Sunday's win was the fifth time in its history that Tennessee won over a No. 1 ranked team.

Kansas received 57 first-place votes from a 65-person media panel in the poll released Monday to retake the top spot, followed by Duke at No. 2.

Tennessee, No. 4 Gonzaga, No. 5 Michigan and No. 6 Virginia received the other first-place votes.

No. 7 Nevada, Auburn, Michigan State and Florida State rounded out the top 10.
