KNOXVILLE, Tenn- (WVLT)- Here are some of the top stories from Local 8 News to get you out the door this morning:

East Tenn. schools close due to illness

While the flu has overflowed doctors' offices and left many East Tennessee adults taking sick days off work, schools in the area have also began to close due to illness in both students and instructors.

Anderson County Schools made the decision to close for kids and teachers on Thursday and Friday, announcing the closing on Tuesday. Administrators said Wednesday was meant to serve as a half-day for professional development, and officials wanted to give parents enough notice to find child care for the end of the week.

Still, the director of schools said the decision was a difficult one to make.

BCSO: Body of missing Crown College student has been found

Dr. Clarence Sexton, the founder of Crown College announced that the body of missing student Blake Smith has been found. In a video about Smith on the college's Facebook page, Dr. Sexton said, "His body has been found and lots of questions aren't answered."

#15 Vols top #24 Cats at Rupp 61-59

Lamonte Turner leads the Vols with 16 points including a big three late to put UT up 59-58 at Kentucky. The 15th ranked Vols go on to beat the 24th ranked Wildcats 61-59, completing their first regular season sweep of Kentucky since 1999.
