UPDATE 6/4/08 10:38 a.m.: KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- The father of a teenage Scott County girl who ran away from a Knoxville rehab facility says his daughter was found Tuesday night in Knoxville.
John Litton says he got a call a short time after his daughter's story appeared on Volunteer TV News. The caller said they had just seen his daughter in the area of a Pilot station on Magnolia Avenue. That's the same place Stephanie Litton, 14, was seen the evening she ran from the Florence Crittenton Agency, apparently with another teenage girl.
Mr. Litton says he made the drive to Knoxville, found some officers in the Magnolia Avenue area, and showed them more pictures of his daughter.
She was found a short time later in the vicinity of the gas station where she had been spotted twice before.
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- A Scott County girl is missing after apparently running away from Knoxville's Florence Crittenton Agency on Dick Lonas Road Thursday afternoon around 6:30.
The Scott County Sheriff's Department says Stephanie Litton, 14, was days away from completing a program she was in when she ran away with a 16-year-old girl.
A Sheriff's Department release says a Crittenton Agency employee said she saw the pair running out the door, but apparently told Litton's father, John Litton, that employees aren't allowed to touch the kids, so she didn't stop them.
She was last seen at the Pilot station on Magnolia Avenue Thursday night around 10:30 where Stephanie apparently borrowed a cell phone from someone.
