Man drowns in tubing accident on Norris Lake |UPDATE

NORRIS LAKE, Tenn. (WVLT)- Recovery efforts ended Sunday night when crews found the body of a 29-year-old man who had drowned on Norris Lake.

His identify has not been released pending notification of his family.

Emergency crews in Union County are searching for a drowning victim on Norris Lake

Dispatchers got a call at about 1:30 Sunday afternoon of a man who had drowned.

TWRA spokesman, Matt Cameron, says there were two men, one was driving the boat and towing another who was tubing.

The man on the tube fell off. The driver tried to find him but couldn't. He then called police for help. The victim is 29-year-old.

Both men were not from Tennessee, crews are afraid the man who drowned was not wearing a life-vest.

Emergency crews from Union County Rescue Squad, Northeast Union and Paulette Fire Departments were on the scene with TWRA and Sheriff's Department searching for the victim.

It happened near an island at the point off Sugar Camp Lane on Norris Lake.

The victims name is not being released at this time.
