KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- One man was killed in a four-car crash on I-40 Westbound near Cedar Bluff. The man has been identified as 43-year-old Jimmy Scott of Philadelphia, Tennessee.
Police say just at the beginning of rush hour on Friday, Scott slowed down for traffic when another driver rear-ended him, pushing Scott's Camero into the back of a Volvo in front of him.
The Volvo spun into the median wall and was hit by another car.
Police say the Volvo's driver, identified as 51-year-old Ginny Wendel, only had minor injuries.
Two other drivers were involved in the accident.
Abdullah Almenie, 21, only suffered minor injuries. Mark Brown, 21, of Crossville, was taken to UT Medical Center with serious injuries.
A wreck involving four cars I-40 near the Cedar Bluff exit has created a massive traffic back up.
Two people were taken to the hospital. Officers say one person was in critical condition.
At one point, traffic was at a standstill all the way back to the Middlebrook Pike exit.
