HARROGATE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- University Medical Clinic plans to give out free basketball tickets to community members who receive a flu shot.

UMC is offering flu vaccines at its offices in Harrogate and New Tazewell on Tuesday, November 25 and Wednesday, November 26 between 8 a.m. - 12 p.m. and 1 p.m. - 5 p.m.

"The holiday season is a time when families travel and gather together and it is also a time when the flu can be spread from one to another," says UMC Medical Director, Dr. Nicole Shields. "We encourage everyone to get their flu vaccine before Thanksgiving, and come enjoy a free, fun family night at the women's basketball game the following week."

The tickets are for the LMU vs. Bluefield State women's basketball game on December 1 at the Tex Turner Arena.

Most insurance plans cover the cost of the vaccine, or they are offered for $25. No appointment is needed.
