Crews recover body at South Knoxville quarry

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) - A drowning victim at a South Knoxville Quarry has been identified as 50-year-old Edward Dilbeck.



Knoxville Fire Department and Knoxville Rescue Squad have recovered a possible drowning victim.

Crews received a call that a 40-50 year old man jumped from a cliff 60-80 feet above the water at a quarry on Augusta Ave.

Officers say he submerged, resurfaced, and then went back under water.

Several people with him, were unable to find him.

Crews completed the search early this morning according to dispatch.

The name of the victim has not been released.
