MARYVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- Crime analysts surveyed towns all across Tennessee. They measured data based on property and violent crimes per capita.
Maryville has nearly 30,000 residents, yet the city saw 912 crimes in 2012, which translated to a 1 in 31 chance of being the victim of one.
That earned Maryville a spot as the 14th-safest place for this criterion.
Greg Russell said, "It makes me feel great. I didn't realize. I've lived here all of my life, it's a great city and I feel comfortable."
Knoxville ranked 46, while Oak Ridge came in 13.
