Host Bio

Whitney Kent is a television host and executive producer at WVLT. She was originally born and raised in Bel Air, Maryland but moving farther South was always her dream. She couldn’t be happier to be in Knoxville, Tennessee where it’s okay to wear cowgirl boots, listen to country music and freely use “y’all”. She spent eight years in wild and wonderful West Virginia working for WDTV in Clarksburg as a weather anchor and reporter. During that time she attended West Virginia Wesleyan College and graduated with a B.A in Communication. Whitney is a high-energy individual with a passion for life and adventure. On Saturdays she’s rooting for the Vols, on Sunday it’s all about the Baltimore Ravens and anytime ice hockey is on she’s cheering for the Pittsburgh Penguins and the Ice Bears. In her down time she spends time with her husband, daughter and adorable dog, Connor Boh. Whitney feels truly blessed to be in East Tennessee, especially Knoxville where you can hit the downtown or head out to the country and still be in the same city.
