WVLT-- Former Tennessee defensive coordinator John Jancek has been hired as safeties coach at South Florida.

Jancek left the University of Tennessee in early January in what Butch Jones and the Vols called a "mutual parting of ways." Jancek completed three seasons with the Vols; a 9-4 record and an Outback Bowl win over Northwestern University.

Jancek was replaced at Tennessee by Bob Shoop, who joins the staff from Penn State. He agreed to a three-year, $3.45 million deal.
