KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) - A Knoxville teen has been arrested and charged in a shooting that happened Monday, officials with the Knoxville Police Department announced Thursday.

Larry McBee, 18, is in custody on charges of aggravated robbery and felony evading arrest, according to KPD. McBee was taken into custody after fleeing an officer who tried to stop him as he was driving in Jefferson County.

“He is accused of shooting a man after a struggle over a gun outside of a home on Coker Ave. on 10/24,” KPD said. “McBee fled from KPD officers on Wed. but was later taken into custody in Jefferson County.”

According to an arrest report, McBee arrived at the victim’s house and asked to borrow a gaming chair, but the victim said no. McBee then reportedly asked a second victim who lives at the home, the victim’s half-brother, if he could borrow a handgun. The second victim then brought his handgun to McBee, who was in his car at the time, which led to a struggle.

During the struggle, McBee reportedly shot the second victim in the stomach, then backed out of the house’s driveway, dragging the second victim with his car.

The shooting victim was taken to the hospital and had surgery, the report stated.
